ACCESS THE ENTERPRISE IOT MARKET IN ASEAN
Asia IoT Business Platform Indonesia 2019 | Jakarta | 28 to 29 August 2019

Indonesia’s average economic growth is forecasted to be an annual rate 5.5% during the period of 2018 to 2020. With the world’s fourth largest population of more than 260 million, 133 million internet users and number of mobile connections of 389 million, the market potential for IoT in Indonesia is enormous. Looking at the various industries in Indonesia, by 2030, the automotive sector is estimated to have 46 million vehicles on the street; the utility sector will see 83 million homes for the 300-million population, while 57 million Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will contribute to the economic growth.

The government in Indonesia has been very active in promoting the adoption of frontier technologies and recently they have published a roadmap to prepare for the Industry 4.0 called “Making Indonesia 4.0”, with the aim to bolster Indonesia’s economic competitiveness. A national IoT roadmap draft was announced by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (KEMKOMINFO) at the previous edition of Asia IoT Business Platform in 2018.

As part of the economic masterplan, Indonesia is working towards Southeast Asia’s largest digital economy through the 2020 Go Digital Vision. Indonesia’s digital economy is expected to contribute US$130 billion to its economy in 2020. Currently, there is an ongoing Palapa Ring Project to implement 36,000km of optic network. It will increase high speed internet connectivity throughout the country, especially in rural areas.

The Indonesian government is also aggressive in pushing for smart city initiatives. Under its Movement to 100 Smart City plan, the country aims to achieve smart connectivity, smart solutions and smart user. In line with the ASEAN Smart Cities Network introduced in 2018 Indonesia has presented 3 cities: Jakarta, Makassar and Banyuwangi, as part of the pilot phase.

Supported by KEMKOMINFO, the 32nd edition of Asia IoT Business Platform in 2019 will focus on discussing the potential and challenges in adopting IoT in industrial as well as transport and logistics vertical to realize the “Making Indonesia 4.0” vision, as well as the national IoT roadmap.

Over 500 senior stakeholders from government, telecommunications, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, healthcare, banking and financial services will be present to discuss the key challenges, pain points, and unexplored potential in implementing IoT in businesses.
